Dusan Novakov

 

 

Dusan Novakov - Worry LaterDusan Novakov was born 1970 in Serbia. Between 1986 and 1988 he joined the international Jazz seminar in Groznjan with Reggie Workman.

In 1989 he moved to Austria. From 1989 to 1998 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz where he received his master degree. From 1996 to 1997 he studied percussion at the University of Arts in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Because of his great music sensibility Dusan Novakov enthuses the audience in an outstanding way and is furthermore in demand for many international formations.

Dusan Novakov has played with international stars like Mark Murphy, Oliver Lake, George Cables, John Marshall, Dick Oatts, Don Menza, Kirk Lightsey, Michelle Hendricks, Toninio Horta, Dusko Gojkovic, Valery Ponomarev,  Andi Bey, Bread Lealy, Karl Ratzer, Timna Brauer and Elias Meiri Ensemble, Fernando Correa, Fritz Pauer, Big Band Graz, Frank Lacy, Gregory Porter, Andy Middleton,…

Since 1991 he has played at international Jazz festivals and has been on stage with various well-known Jazz ensembles in the USA, China, South-Africa, Israel, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Slovakia, Hungary, Ex-Yugoslavia, Estland, Poland and The Netherlands.

Teaching:
Since 2005 Professor for jazz drums and improvisation at the Vienna Music Institute.
Additionally: Workshops for jazz drums in Austria and abroad
